Taiji forces spring course
General information
Taiji forces (or taijijin) are one of the most important aspects of taijiquan and
qigong. If one practices taijiquan or qigong without finding and developing taijijin, one cannot experience
the beneficial effects that are inherent to this kind of exercises. Taiji force is an internal bodily
force coming from the dantian in the lower abdominal area. Originally this force was used for fighting,
but now we use it for the prevention of disease and for the treatment of others.
Traditionally the subject of taijijin was an obscure and rather impenetrable
matter; any knowledge in relation to it was kept secret. Students had to follow their masters for many
years and only a lucky few were allowed to join the inner circle of 'those in the know'.
Today it is often believed that we will only reach a stage where we experience
taiji force if we practice taijiquan or qigong long enough. This is a misconception. We can practice
for a dozen years, but if we do not have the right key we will never be able to open the door. To find
the key and to develop our internal force it is necessary to develop stage by stage. This way it is
possible to reach the highest levels on a physical, mental, energetic and later, if desired, spiritual
level.
Dr Shen Hongxun's experiences on a physical, mental and energetic level have led
him to discover a direct route to the development of taijijin. Following his teaching students can
quickly experience the sensation of internal taiji force movement. During the lesson he uses taiji
forces to physically move students from a distance and also to influence and activate their internal
energy system to help them reach a higher level of practice. After only a few years of practise
students can develop a strong taiji force, which they can apply freely.
